I just found the coolest site for learning clarinet fingerings!
Clarinet Trainer! <-- click here
Here is a screen shot. I love the quality with the REAL picture, not just black and white circles. This makes the site very user friendly. I also love the "extra credit" with the pitch tendency of the instrument. Students can learn these helpful tips with NO ding on their scores, so that is a win-win!
Finally, there is a trainer level: easy, medium, hard, to reach the most students.
As a clarinet teacher, I am excited about this site. Please try it out and let me know how you liked it! Did it help you? If you are a teacher, did your students' like it? How did you implement it into your classroom or studio?
Let me share a bit of MY fall schedule!
I am enrolled full time at Calvin in what will be my FINAL year toward my Bachelors in Music Education! YEAAAAH! It includes basic core that slipped through until the end, my Capstone Education course in which I write my final thesis, and piano lessons with Dr. Kim!
I am delighted to also have twenty-two students ranging in age from 6 - adult, and beginner to advanced! I am teaching piano, clarinet, guitar to home school, private school, and charter school students. 64% are in the students homes! I just created six new slots, so check out the Private Lesson Tab on the menu bar above...
I am continuing my full time pianist position with the First Church of Christ, Scientist in my fifth year there. We are enjoying our new facility on Fuller, just off the highway.
I also perform as alternate on clarinet with Calder City Concert Band, and Der Gut German Band, substitute on keyboard with Sam's Swing Band, substitute pianist at St. Luke's Lutheran and Temple Emanuel as needed. This fall, I am adding Rockford Community Band (clarinet, mainly) and Shir Shalom Jewish Choir.
I am available for event music: funerals, weddings, receptions, parties as well. I perform a variety of genre from sacred to secular, New Age to Classic and Jazz, on both piano and clarinet.
My next performance will be a meditative recital with clarinet at Temple Emanuel, 1715 Fulton St. NE, GR, this Saturday night from 6:45 - 7:30 pm. It precedes the Slichot service at 7:30. I will be accompanied by Todd Wilke, director of Music Ministry at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in East Grand Rapids.
September is 1/2 over!!!
